ABOUT THIS COMPANY:

Times, they are a-changin'. "The last first-generation large law firm in Philadelphia," according to the Philadelphia Business Journal, has begun its transition into the next generation.

Some background: Cozen O'Connor has been continuously run by Stephen Cozen since the day the firm was born, back in 1970. Patrick O'Connor joined as a sort of co-parent in 1973. Between the two of them, they have raised the Philly firm from toddlerhood - when it employed four attorneys doing insurance defense cases - to its 2007 status as a mature behemoth, comprising nearly 500 attorneys in 21 American cities and two foreign outposts.
