ABOUT THIS COMPANY:
Special ConEdIt is the city that never sleeps, but without Consolidated Edison Company (ConEd), all the night owls would be bumping into each other at every turn. For more than 180 years, ConEd has been providing the energy that fuels America’s biggest city. The regulated utility supplies electric service in New York City’s five boroughs (except a small area of Queens) and most of Westchester County, as well as natural gas service in some of those areas. ConEd’s subsidiary, Con Edison of New York, owns and operates the world’s largest direct steam system, which benefits most of Manhattan. One of the largest investor-owned energy companies, Consolidated Edison has more than $13 billion in annual revenue and at least $28 billion in assets. Consolidated Edison’s nonutility operations include energy marketing, independent power production and fiber-optic telecommunications.
