As if a 23.7 per cent increase in turnover—putting the firm in the UK top 20—at the end of financial year 2007-2008 wasn’t enough, the firm went on to record a head-turning 30 per cent growth halfway through 2008 as well. In June 2008, Bird & Bird was named “International Law Firm of the Year” at The Lawyer awards. The award paid homage to the firm’s global expansion strategy, which had seen its revenue triple over the last seven years and the firm expand from an IT and IP boutique into a full-service international firm.
