ABOUT THIS COMPANY:
In February 2009, BearingPoint filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection due to a debt-load of around $1 billion. It's not quite the end of the line, however.

Getting Hired
Tips from the inside
Looking for experts
During the BearingPoint interview process, candidates will "meet with three to four" different people over the course or two or three interviews, and should expect to meet a range of people, "from peer-level to managing director". Some candidates will begin the process with the human resources department "to confirm CV information and answer general background questions on the firm". Second-round interviews are designed "to assess whether the candidate can do a top job on client delivery". And final rounds normally dig into topics such as "culture, motivation and career potential". A source notes, "There can also be a case study presentation if it is felt that we need to understand more about the candidate." In years past, BearingPoint had a tendency to hire people "primarily for their industry experience", but current recruiting efforts focus "more on consulting skills", we're told.
