Baker SURVEY SAYS

Vault’s Verdict: Baker & McKenzie associates love that their day-to-day work frequently involves creative cooperation with colleagues at one of the firm’s dozens of international offices. They don’t love that their lives outside of work have receded into distant memories.

Associate Life

Satisfaction

• “I am satisfied with the type of work and responsibility I am given. The only downside is that there is absolutely no concern for overwork or burnout. The expectation seems to be that there is no billable goal for the year that is too high.”

• “I could not imagine working for a more dynamic law firm with a more impressive set of colleagues. Every day, it seems, we are asked to do great work for great clients, which keeps the work interesting and allows us to be creative.”

• “Baker is a pretty reasonable place to go through the BigLaw grind if you must.”

• “My colleagues are pleasant and my work is interesting most of the time. Most of my frustrations come from inability to control workflow.”
