ABOUT THIS COMPANY:
Resourceful by natureArcher Daniels Midland Company (ADM) processes enough food each day to feed more than 130 million people. The company was started in 1902 in Minneapolis by George Archer and John Daniels with a lone linseed processing plant, which eventually grew into nine mills and 334 presses, making it the world's largest linseed oil producer. Two decades later, their Archer-Daniels Linseed Company acquired Midland Linseed Products, renaming the enterprise Archer Daniels Midland. The company hired a chemist in 1923 and spent the next 20 years on research, using raw linseed and crude soybean oil as the foundation for hundreds of different products.

Tips from the inside
Go for the grainArcher Daniels Midland's entry-level positions are concentrated in five areas: accounting, engineering, grain division, information technology and transportation management. Application information for each of these departments can be found on the company web site at www.admworld.com, where the company's recruiting schedule for a number of colleges and universities can also be found. Besides the web site, ADM encourages interested candidates to check with their respective career services centers - most of which have information on internships, as well - for company visit dates.
