Good ole' Aramark

An operations manager in New York reports that Aramark's "corporate culture is typical, but more of a 'good ole' boys' club. Women are still underpaid and overlooked." And a food service director in Tennessee states that she sees "a lot of 'good ole' boy' politics" and that Aramark's "women [employees] are still paid less than men in the same positions," although "salaries for women with this company have finally become more competitive."

Aramark's career web site (www.aramark.com/Careers) offers a database of open positions searchable by type and location for those looking to join the ranks of its 240,000-strong army of workers. All candidates are required to apply online, and to that end the company asks applicants to create an online profile and upload their resumes. The web site also provides helpful interview tips and day-in-the-life rundowns of several jobs at Aramark. The company offers a "full array" of benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) and paid vacation.
