Abercrombie & Fitch is the current "it" company for American fashion for teens and young adults nationwide. Yet, at more than 100 years old, it's quite a mature operation. The company has outfitted celebrities since the early days of the 20th century-everyone from U.S. presidents (from Teddy Roosevelt through Gerald Ford) to pilots (Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart) to writers (Ernest Hemingway) to stars of the big screen (Greta Garbo, Katherine Hepburn, Clark Gable).

Information on jobs at corporate headquarters and jobs in the firm's retail outlets is accessible from the Careers pop-up window from the Abercrombie web site. Openings for stores (stock, cashiers, models) appear by rolling the cursor over the category (U.S. and U.K., full- or part-time); each listing contains complete details and an address for posted letters and resumes. Alternately, one can send an application by email to the regional recruiting contact, or "hook up" with A&F at career fairs at more than 120 colleges and universities. For home office opportunities, one can search by department (IT, finance, marketing, loss prevention, store planning and management, etc.) or location, then set up a profile and apply online.
