Headquartered in north suburban Chicago, the company serves clients in more than 130 countries, employing 72,000 people at more than 100 manufacturing, distribution, research and development, and other facilities around the world. It invested $2.5 billion for research and development in 2007 and earned $29.5 million in sales in 2008. The company landed 80th in Fortune 500 for 2009, higher than 2008’s 96th ranking.
