FIRST-EVER VAULT TECH CONSULTING 25 RANKINGS RELEASED

BOOZ ALLEN HAMILTON TOPS NEW RANKING SYSTEM AS BEST TECH CONSULTING FIRM TO WORK FOR

New York, NY, (October 12, 2010) Vault.com, the source of ratings, rankings and insight for the consulting industry, has unveiled a brand new ranking —The Vault Technology Consulting 25—that looks beyond prestige to determine the best tech consulting firms to work for.  Booz Allen Hamilton took the top spot in the inaugural Vault Tech Consulting 25, followed by Smartronix, Inc. and Deloitte Consulting LLP.

As part of Vault’s annual Technology Consulting Survey, more than1,500 consultants of all levels were asked to assess their peer consulting firms based on “prestige” (they were unable to rate their own firm, and were asked to rate only firms with which they were familiar).  Consultants were also asked to rank their own firms on a range of “quality of life” criteria.  A weighted formula was applied to the data to determine the 2011 Vault Tech Consulting 25.

“In the tech consulting industry, we have found that consultants are increasingly looking beyond prestige when choosing an employer,” said Brian Dalton, Managing Editor at Vault.com.  “They tell us that company culture was their most important determining factor when choosing an employer.  This notion has certainly affected which firms ranked highest in the Vault Tech Consulting 25.”

The Top 10 ranked firms in the 2011 Vault Technology Consulting 25 are:

1.    Booz Allen Hamilton

2.    Smartronix, Inc.

3.    Deloitte Consulting LLP

4.    Computer Sciences Corporation

5.    Diamond Mgmt. & Technology Consultants

6.    Accenture

7.    Lockheed Martin Corporation

8.    SunGard Consulting Services

9.    Perficient

10.  Capgemini

A majority of tech consultants at Booz Allen Hamilton praised the firm’s quality of life, with one survey respondent declaring that “Booz Allen is an excellent firm with top notch leadership, constant growth and an excellent staff.”  A colleague raved about the firm’s culture: “Booz Allen is very diverse, and the culture is one of accepting differing viewpoints in order to bring innovation to its clients.”

Consultants at other firms characterized Booz Allen Hamilton as “impressive,” “extraordinary,” “prestigious,” and “savvy,” and also lauded the firm’s commitment to quality of life, stating that the firm is “diverse and takes care of their people,” and is “family friendly and a great company for working mothers.”

Smartronix, Inc. also fared well, taking the top spot in a remarkable 12 Quality of Life categories, resulting in a No. 2 ranking in the Tech Consulting 25.  “It’s the best company I have ever work for – hands down,” said one Smartronix employee.  A colleague added, “This is a company that encourages people to reach their potential with a strong emphasis on professional and personal development.”  While another stated, “The customer and employee focus of the company is what separates us from others.  It was the family oriented culture and obvious integrity of our executive leaders that lured me here – and will keep me here.”

“Booz Allen Hamilton has always been a mainstay toward the top of our annual Technology Consulting Prestige Rankings and also performs strongly in a number of Quality of Life categories.  Job seekers get the best of both worlds here and it shows in their ranking,” added Dalton.  “Smartronix, Inc. offers the intangibles job seekers are looking for when choosing an employer – strong firm culture, overall job satisfaction, an excellent work-life balance, and competitive compensation.  A lack of a strong presence in our prestige rankings is what holds Smartronix back from reaching the top spot in our new ranking.”
