Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2008, the William S. Boyd School of Law is the only law school in Nevada. In its first decade, the school has made a point of focusing on practical skills, which has resulted in its advancement in its national standing. Boyd's curriculum includes the traditional first-year core classes, and includes a requirement of three classes on the lawyering process, concentrating on the fundamentals of dispute resolution. Boyd also offers three joint degrees: a JD/MBA, JD MSW, and JD/PhD in education.

Students in our surveys report that, though the alumni network is young, Boyd graduates have strong support from the local judiciary and in-state firms who want to hire locally. While in school, most Boyd students live off campus, but warn that housing in Las Vegas can be expensive. Luckily, there is an abundance of things to do; the school is located close to the Las Vegas Strip, providing students ample opportunity for entertainment away from their studies.
