Established in 1892, Case Western Reserve University School of Law is one of the oldest law schools in the U.S. and one of the first to gain ABA accreditation. Case Western Law is particularly known for its concentration in health law. The health law department is strengthened by its connection to the university's medical school, and offers a JD/MD dual degree, as well as joint JD/MS degrees in biochemistry and bioethics.

In addition to traditional core classes, Case Western Law's curriculum features the CaseArc lawyering skills program, a set of writing and researching classes that spread across all three years. Seven concentrations are also available to JD students, including one in law, technology and the arts, and two in areas of public law. For LLMs, Case Western offers certification in five areas, such as public international law and heath law.

Case Western Law's reputation with employers is strongest in the Midwest, though Case Western has recently made inroads into big East Coast firms. The school is located about 15 minutes away from downtown Cleveland, a city that students laud for its affordable cost of living. At the week's end, most students head downtown or participate in the school's weekly organized happy hour.
