Founded as the College of Business Administration, the Boston University School of Management specializes in information systems, tech-related business and health sector management. In addition to its full-time, part-time and executive MBA programs, students benefit from the school's mathematical finance program, an MS in investment management and a doctoral program in business administration.

Out of the 64 total credits required for the MBA degree, 34 are earned from pre-set classes, with the rest free for electives. The school offers five MBA concentrations, each of which awards graduate certificates upon completion, as well as two specialized programs in nonprofit and public management and health sector management. The BU School of Management administers 11 formal dual degrees with other BU graduate programs, including a MBA/MD, MBA/JD and MBA/MS in television management.

Insiders says BU graduates land jobs through recruiters, summer internship employers and the school's strong alumni network, which is spread across the Northeast. Consulting and marketing are popular industries for students, as are the less-conventional government and health sectors.
