The Owen Graduate School of Management's MBA program is composed of semesters broken into seven, week modules. Of the 64 credit hours required to graduate, 22 are core classes, mostly concentrated in the first year. Insiders say the workload is very demanding, particularly for those core classes. For the other 42 credits, students specialize their studies in one of nine areas and can then specialize further in one of four, such as real estate or entrepreneurship, or emphasize in one of six other areas, like health management or brand management.

Among the specializations available, the school's health care management program is particularly robust. Owen's specialized health care MBA has a curricular experiential requirement in a health care company. As for employment prospects, Vanderbilt is a well-respected name in the Southeast, and the Owen name helps graduates get their foot in the door outside the region as well.

When not at school, students have a lot to enjoy on campus and off. The social scene is split between school activities like football tailgating and clubs and activities in downtown Nashville, ranging from live music and bars to cultural events and restaurants.
