Though the University of Toronto began offering business courses for undergraduates in 1902, the Rotman School of Management wasn't established until nearly 70 years later. Today, the school offers more than just undergraduate programs, running both morning and evening MBA programs for working professionals, as well as two executive MBA programs. Within the MBA program, Rotman's finance department is particularly robust, with several finance, related concentrations and a joint MBA/master's degree in financial economics.

Students arrive at Rotman the August before their MBA program begins to take a pre-program session to orient them to MBA life. Afterward, the first year is an intense four quarters of core classes. In their second year, students take nine electives, working towards one of nine majors in areas that include human resources management, investment banking, risk management and financial engineering. Students can also combine their MBA with a degree in law, Asia,Pacific studies or environmental studies.

Rotman is a big feeder school of banks and consulting firms in both the U.S. and Canada, drawing a host of recruiters every year. Campus is in near Bay Street, Toronto's financial center, so students have easy access to networking and internships. Thursday is the big night for student get-togethers, but students gather downtown informally throughout the week.
