In 1977, the University of the Pacific's business department was restructured as the School of Business and Public Administration. In 1995, however, the school morphed into what became its current incarnation: the Eberhardt School of Business. Today, the school offers four different tracks in which students can specialize their MBA: management, marketing, entrepreneurship and innovation and finance. Additionally, students can earn joint MBAs in fields such as pharmacy and law. It's even possible to pursue an MBA jointly with the Peace Corps by studying domestically for a year and overseas for two years.

Academics offered at the school are 'very good' and 'very worthwhile,' say students in Vault's Buzz Book surveys. 'The quality of our professors could stand against any university,' but students should expect to work hard. Although the workload is 'reasonable,' in terms of grading, 'there is nothing out of the ordinary, but as a grad student, you are expected to get grades of a B or better.' 'Time management is key,' insists one student. But if you can withstand the workload, you'll have a potentially great payoff. 'I found what I would call my dream job for starting out,' reports an alumna. 'Our career resources staff is wonderful in helping with the job search process and I owe a lot of thanks to them for helping provide me with many interview opportunities with good companies.'
