The University of Nebraska College of Law was created when the University of Nebraska acquired the private Central Law College and integrated it into the state system. Nebraska Law's academic highlights include its space and telecommunications program, which administers a specialty JD concentration, LLM focus and a MLS. The program is notable because it separates space law from air law, which most schools combine in one program. Nebraska Law also has a well-respected law and psychology joint degree, as well as combined programs in seven other areas. The law school also partners with the University of Denver to offer a JD/MA in international affairs.

As is standard, required classes for JDs are mostly bunched in the first year, with the second and third years open to electives. There are two specialty concentrations in business transactions law or litigation, or students can tailor their own specialty. Students tell Vault that grading is tough, held to a C median on a strict curve.

Nebraska Law graduates are concentrated in the Midwest, particularly in Kansas City and Chicago, as well as Nebraskan cities. Most social activities revolve around campus, with a number of active student organizations and a large undergraduate population. Football is very popular in the fall, and law students can score reduced price tickets through the school.
