Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is home to Dreamland BBQ, the Crimson Tide football team and the University of Alabama School of Law--the only public law school in the state. In recent years, Alabama Law has been working to expand its faculty and facilities, adding a brand-new wing to the school in 2007 and 11 new professors over the past two years. The school also plans to open a seventh clinic to allow more access to clinical courses to interested students.

Alabama Law offers a fairly traditional curriculum, with a range of electives available to students after their first year. But, like the facilities, the curriculum is set for possible future expansion. Though graduates have gone on to jobs throughout the U.S., the majority work within the Southeast. The school's reputation within the state is unparalleled--the big firms from Birmingham regularly recruit from the school, and most Alabama judges and politicians have ties to the university.
