The career office is excellent. The alumni network is small but helpful.
Alumni in the financial services industry have made a big difference to those
seeking opportunities on Wall Street. Now that Wall Street extends to North
Carolina, opportunities are more plentiful still. But be forewarned, Vandy is
still not the best place to attend if a sinecure on Wall Street is your goal. Of
course Penn, and Harvard are better, but probably not your saftey schools either.
Still, NYU and Rochester are probably within your reach and clearly offer a more
well trodden path to downtown Manhattan than does Vandy. A great argument can be
made for living in the south however, including climate, cost of living,
lifestyle. Maybe Wall Street isn't that attractive after all.
