Vanderbilt attacts a fair share of top candidates, but does not fill the
class with them. Therefore admissions has to make a tradeoff.
Top schools matter, as does good work experience, as does good
grades and scores. But all three are not mandatory. As a result,
the class includes a significant number of graduate of hghly
competitive colleges, a number of very young student with excellent
gradees and scores, and a significant number of student from
lesser undergraduate schools with interesting work backgounds.
A relatively high percentage of applicants is accepted.
