Austin, TX is called the music capital of the world. There is no dearth
of opportunities to enjoy yourself. The school is walking distance from
the downtown and there are more bars than you can hope to visit during
your stay. And they are not too expensive either. Remember the UT
system has over 50,000 students enrolled and Austin is to a large part
a student town. The Longhorns are a major force in virtually every
sports be it football, men's basketball or women's basketball and the
sporting season keeps everyone excited. Social activities are numerous
and diverse with very frequent movie screenings (free!!), drama and
theater performances, visit by activists from all over the world (Bill
Clinton was here an year back, Michael Moore was here last year) and
then there is Willie Nelson!!
