One of the big sells of McCombs is the town of Austin. Austin is a
safe, beautiful community with a lot of things to do - live music, 6th
street, arts festivals, great theatre, etc.
Housing - most of the graudate students live within 15 minutes of
campus. There are several areas of Austin that have homes/apartments
in quiet communities that grad students like, including Hyde Park, Far
West, the Arboretum, and Town Lake. Housing prices have come down a
bit (especially in apartments in the Arboretum area - and many are less
than 10 years old. People banked on a housing boom there).
The campus is pretty and easy to get to. The business school and the
builing across the street house 99% of what MBA's need to do (classes,
meeting rooms, graduate lounge, etc).
