McCombs is lucky to attract a large amount of high caliber companies (barring
very bad economies such as is happening currently). Though the amount of
recruiting companies located in Texas is high, there are also a large amount of
companies coming from all over. The career advisors work incredibly hard trying
to get companies in that students are interested in and also hold career
development workshops throughout the year. One of the best workshop series is
for those who don't have a full time offer by the last semester of 2nd year.
This series is made up of weekly workshops that include how to find your own
opportunities and how to use the network around you (including fellow MBA
students that you pair up with). Students that attend these workshops get first
dibs at any on campus recruiting opportunities that come to the school during
that time period.
Employer like McCombs students because we are seen as people who are
knowledgeable, who will work hard and who aren't going to be greedy in the
process.
