Admission & Application Survey |
| Full time MBA |
Admissions requires the basics (application, 2 letters of
recommendation, transcripts, and resume), plus:
--3 essays (changes yearly)
--"Invitation" interview (required for all admits). After you submit
your application, you will be asked to schedule an interview either on
campus or near your home with an alumni.
McCombs looks for a well-rounded class with a variety of backgrounds
and experiences. Academics is important, but not the only factor.
Often, candidates are selected based on what they can bring to the MBA
experience based on their professional background or professional
goals. Leadership potential/experience is highly rated.
Since the program is heavy on teamwork and presentation skills, the
interview is increasingly important. Admissions and alumni are looking
to see if candidates would be a good fit on their study team, and can
present and communicate well. Also, more emphasis is being placed on
whether a candidate is "placeable" in jobs that recruit at UT (all
areas, all industries).
