If you've ever said that you've been to the UK but have never gone north
of the English border, then you haven't been to the UK! Scotland is
another place altogether...tremendous people, active outdoors lifestyle,
amazing scenery, and a generally serene, high quality of life. And
Glasgow is only a quick hour flight or 6 hour train journey to London so
you are never too far away from the big city...of course, there is
always 50 minute train ride to Edinburgh or a couple of hours flight to
such places as Amsterdam. It is just a wonderful place to be!
As graduate students (especially overseas students), housing is well
provided. The campus is in the city but there is still a sense of the
university community if you want to be involved. There are a number of
student organizations and more than enough nightlife to keep you going
for a while!
