Executive MBA students are generally fully-employed and using every free
moment on mastering the challenging curriculum. Nevertheless, the class
did so much work in teams, changing with each module, that most social
relationships grow out of teamwork. Regular pub sessions were pleasant
during the student years, and developed into welcome networking alumni
events. Groups of students initiated golf tournaments and football
season tickets/tail-gating parties. We all got together for box seats
at a Hollywood Bowl concert and later at the LA Philharmonic. Some surf
together and some play beach volleyball. More than a few of us have
participated in start-ups together. Downtown LA has a great selection
of restaurants, bars, and entertainment - although we also gather in the
South Bay and Orange County on occasion.
