As Sept. 11th happened at the beginning of my 2nd year, many companies used it
as an excuse to reduce their hiring. The Marshall School at USC is well known for
its marketing and entertainment program so students in these fields did not have
that difficult a time. In finance, we are becoming a better school and are
gaining recognition. Being far away from Wall Street is a detriment but employers
are realising the quality of Marshall students and are making the effort to come
down and are taking notice. Our jump in rankings over the past 4 years has also
been a factor.
