Admission & Application Survey
Full Time MBA Program The admissions process was the same as the other major B Schools. The application was very straight forward and didn't include any essays involving philosophers as some of the others did. The interview was similar. The admissions staff are very friendly and conduct a typical interview. I didn't get the "everybody should be damn lucky to be here" vibe that I got from UCLA. It's definitely competitive in terms of admissions and they use the same criteria as everyone else does: GMAT, GPA, and work history. They seem to make a bigger attempt to NOT have a homogenous class, however, and try to include as many interesting people as possible that don't have typical MBA backgrounds. I didn't find this last admissions metric to be the case at Cal and UCLA.
