Employment Prospects Survey |
| Full Time MBA |
Employers typically categorize Simon students as a Hidden Gem. Being typically
ranked in the lower half of Top Tier surveys, Simon can't compete with the
prestige of Top Ten schools but the talents and skills of the students certainly
can compete. I do recall a couple of companies mentioning that they only recruit
Top Ten MBA's without pointing to a prospective match of skills to do the job.
Encountering this only makes Simon students try even harder - a work ethic that
is pronounced.
While there were job and internship opportunities galore for Finance students,
there were too few for my taste as a Marketing MBA. Since I have left the
program, the school did beef up its career services personnel and programs, but
this would be the only area I would have changed at the time of graduation.
Simon has a unique Mock Interview program that is aimed at advancing the
interviewing skills of its students. Second-year students interview first-year
students in a real and facilitated setting. A real company is chosen by the
first year student and a real title. The 2nd year student reads up on the firm
and gives a video-taped interview, and then a career services professional
provides feedback. Students are required to do at least one such interview, but
can do as many as they either need or want.
