There are multiple parties every weekend, compounded by being a 2nd year
because now I know more people! And I meet new people all the time,
which I truly appreciate. Esp. since it can seem like you keep seeing
the same group all the time, but I think that's self-imposed. Nice to be
reminded there are other people out there. In a class of 800 students,
relatively easy to find company who enjoys varying activities to suit
different moods / interests. That's my favorite thing about being here.
Incidentally, I did my undergrad at Harvard and that's their best asset
too, I think. The student body is so interesting.
There are a lot of activities during the week, dinners, karaoke, quizzo
nights, random meetings at bars. Pretty much any time you want to do
something you can find a group to join you. What else. Sometimes the
scene gets old - Irish Pub, Black Sheep, Roosevelt's, those are the
biggest bars.
Dating scene. I'm single. Sort of. Nice to be a woman in a student body
that's only 33% female. Plenty of opportunities. Hard to transition from
friend to dating, can be awkward because you know if it doesn't work out
you still have to see each other all the time. This happened with a guy
I dated earlier this year, and luckily we still get along. More than you
wanted to know, I'm sure.
Hope this was helpful. I relied heavily on resources describing
different schools, so I think what you're doing is important. Thank you!
