Admission & Application Survey |
| Full-time MBA program |
The admissions process for Wharton includes a mandatory interview.
Candidates submit applications in one of 3 submission periods, after
initial review, promising candidates are invited to interview and
interviewer feedback is considered along with the other admissions
criteria -- essays, accomplishments, work experience, academics, GMAT
scores, community contributions, hobbies & interests, etc. before the
admission decision is made.
Typically it is better to apply in the first application submission
period. However, it's better to hold off and submit the best possible
application package in a later period than to submit an underprepared
application package in the first period.
Essays that tend to impress members of the admissions committee are
those that provide good insights into what makes the applicant tick --
what he/she is passionate about, how she thinks, the values she
embodies, the goals she aspires to, etc. It's best to provide an honest
portrait of yourself because the admissions committee members are
typically very good at spotting inconsistencies and fabrications.
It's also important to demonstrate that you're serious about wanting to
join Wharton. Tell them what aspects of the school you find attractive
and demonstrate that you've done your home work on the MBA program.
