Full time MBA Yes, the GMAT is important but it is only a (very) small component of what Wharton looks for. Get a decent score (>650) and focus on the essays instead. Wharton is looking for leaders, people who have matured professionally and been innovative in what they do at work. They are looking for self-motivation since so much of the school is student-run and they look to people who will be active in building the community over two years. They are looking for passion... in something... be it FASB rules, wireless technologies, piano, whatever. Make sure that comes across. Finally, remember that the people reading the essays are also students and they are looking for the type of person they would be willing to spend time with in a learning team. The class makeup is diverse, and the AdCom does that on purpose. Bring something to the table and make sure it shines through on the essay and the interview.
