Social life:
There are plenty of school-related events year round. If you prefer
sports, football at the Mean Green (stadium) will be your favorite
place to hang out on weekends. The downtown scene is packed with bars
and small restaurants for everyone's taste (vegan favorite is patchouli-
scented Marie's Deli, literary type's fave place to chill with a cuppa
joe is Karma Cafe, and there is the legendary Tomato for a beer and
pizza and a live gig if you're lucky). Every year the Fry Street Fair
(music festival) brings new talent for an entire weekend, so you can
join in the fun that often spills out onto the city streets for a non-
stop 72-hour party.
As for the campus activities, there are numerous clubs for every type
of activity imaginable, from artsy to nerdy to anything Greek or sport-
related. You can stay on campus each evening and never run out of
things to do, from chess tournaments to film screenings to art exhibits
(regularly shown on the art department's first floor). And the school
cafeteria is a great place to relax, study, nap, or enjoy fresh pizza
from a wood-burning oven, another wintertime favorite.
