| Full-time MBA program |
There is lots of social activity. The MBA program does lots of social
activities and has a TGIT every Thursday (instead of TGIF because there
are no Friday classes) in which the MBA students go out and go bowling,
eat at restaurants, go to bars, parties etc. The dating scene is
average. I am married so I cannot really fully comment on the dating
scene, but it seems like my friends don't mind it. The program does not
have a lot of women, but there are plenty in Iowa City and they go to
bars or dance clubs or restaurants to meet them. Some of their favorite
places (Brothers Bar, The Green Room, The Summit, Diamond Dave's) There
are also great athletic events. The Hawkeyes have a great football and
basketball team. There are many restaurants. The most expensive
restaurant in town is called something like the Power Company. There
are also other nice restaurants such as the Olive Garden. There are
several mexican restaurants in town, but if you have ever spent any time
in the southwest they pale in comparison. Some of the more popular
Mexican restaurants are Carlos O'Kellys and El Azteca. There are many
MBA student clubs (Graduate Finance Management Association, Graduate
Marketing Association, Graduate Consulting & Technology Association, The
Tippie Leadership Association and many other University student clubs.
