Social Life Survey |
| Weekend MBA |
Part-time social life is very limited and self-directed. There are
some organized activities, and somewhat more professional groups (i.e.,
Finance Club, Venture Capital Club, Real Estate Club, etc.) to get
involved in.
Keep in mind that nearly all students in the program are employed full-
time and working hard outside of class. I'd say around half are
married and maybe 10-30% have kids, so many people bug out right after
class. But there's a good spread of people who want to have fun and
have the time to grab a beer after class, etc.
The surprising thing to me was how many of the people I met had really
great personalities...you know, you figure the U of C is going to be a
bunch of math/quant jocks and ergo, geeks. But while they definitely
as a group were the smartest people I've every been associated with,
they were terrific people too, and from an amazingly diverse cultural
background. Every major community of people in the world was in that
program, I think, and it's better for it.
