Yes, it's highly competitive, but don't mistake it being a quant school
for having a quantitative admissions procedure -- they don't. It's a
qualitative process, and they're looking as much for as good a fit on
personality as on academics.
With your essays, realize that the REAL questions are "why do you want
and need an MBA to advance in your career, and why do you want to get
it from here?". Answer the essay questions through this prism, and
write more as a journalist -- clear, concise, etc. -- than as an
english lit professor. Creativity is good, but don't let your
creativity block your point.
