While school takes up much of your time, there is always time for going
out. There are no class on Friday except for the occasional make up
day. As a result, Thursday is a big night to go out and enjoy New
Orleans. Activities include but are not limited to: bars, taking the
streetcar around town, walking through the garden district, cheap golf,
shopping on Magazine street with all of its eclectic shops, picnics in
Audubon park, dancing at Whiskey Blue, Twi Ropa, Metro, and 360.
Favorite bars uptown are Phillips, the Boot (undergrad hangout, known
as the hook up bar), Brunos, Dos Jefes, Les Bon Temp Roulez, and Bridge
Lounge. Downtown favorites are Wine Loft, DBA, Cafe Brazil, Dinos, Red
Eye Grille, Howlin Wolf, Lucy's, Vic's, and of course Harrah's. There
is always Bourbon Street with all of its "entertainment". Favorites in
the French Quarter are Pat O'Brians, Razoo, Tropical Isle, Gold Mine,
Hustler Club, and the Gold Club. Restaurants that you need to go to
while in New Orleans: Jacque Imo's, Sugar Magnolia, Antoine's,
Mother's, Cafe Degas, Brennan's, Commander's Palace, Irene's, Acme
Oyster House, and just about any place downtown will be good.
