| Full-time MBA program |
There were plenty of big name recruiters when I was there. Citigroup,
JPMorganChase, FedEx, and numerous energy companies form the core of recuriting.
The program definitely appeals to large to medium sized corporations looking for
well-rounded talent. You will also see big-four consultants looking around
Tulane. Big-ticket strategy consultants (McKinsey, BAH, BCG, etc.) come to
Tulane occassionally when they are looking for specific talent that they cannot
find at the top-10 programs. Investment banks do not formally recruit at Tulane,
although the Finance professors have connections into that world. If you want to
get into i-banking or sales & trading, it is essential that you network with the
finance professors and do well in their classes. The opportunities are
limited...but they are there for the motivated student.
Geographically, you are most likely to start off in either Houston, or Atlanta
after graduation. A fair number of MBA grads also go on to NY. Beyond those
three cities, Tulane MBAs are sparsely distributed around the globe.
I can't comment on internship opportunities as I chose to take summer classes in
Europe as part of the international program. The program consisted of intensive
classes in International Finance and International Management taught in Barcelona
and Paris respectively by professors from accredited business schools in those
cities. I spent the remainder of the summer in a language program in Montpellier
polishing my French speaking skills.
Success in recruiting at Tulane is a function of what you make of it. Put in
the time and effort, network properly, and you will be rewarded.
