Admission & Application Survey |
| Full-time MBA program |
There are no surprises in the admissions process. Standard MBA
boilerplate essays and letters of recommendation are required. Face-to-
face interviews on-campus are definitely preferred by the two-man
admissions team. However, one of my classmates got in with a full
scholarship simply on the basis of his application and a phone
interview. Personally, I recommend taking the time to visit the campus
if only to get a taste of New Orleans. See my comments on Quality of
Life.
People with unusual backgrounds are given additional consideration as
are those with experience abroad. Each intake is deliberately
structured with a good cultural mix, so sell what sets you apart from
the average WASP American. As with any MBA program, those with Fortune
500 experience and/or technical backgrounds are also appreciated.
A big GMAT is not absolutely essential to being admitted, however
scholarships/fellowships go exclusively to internationals with good
resumes and U.S. natives with high GMATs. A high GMAT makes the rest of
the process much easier, so don't underestimate the importance of
preparation for this test.
