The school is in the middle of desert, the program is quite intense,
there is little time for bar going, but there is a school pub, where we
went on Thursday nights, but the bars in Arizona close at 1am. That is
the state law. The city where the school is located is
very "Americana", going from New York was a cultur shock, but the
desert is beautiful, there is no Greek system, the entire school was
friends with each other. This is a small campus and limited number of
students, there was no need for sub cultures- There are various clubs
and they host cultural nights, mainly regional foods and hire
entertainment from different region of the world. This is an effort by
school to bring students together in a social setting, because
honestly, everyone is quite busy with classes. There is downtown
Scottsdale with bars, clubs and restaurants, like any other city in the
U.S. you have many choices, a lot of people from San Francisco and new
york had moved to Arizona therefore, there is a more sofisticated
culture compared to other Southwestern states.
