Unless one is working in aspects of geology useful to petroleum companies, there
were few if any internships or campus recruiting visits. I am
currently looking for a job while I finish writing my thesis, and I can honestly
say that I do not have significantly better career prospects from having just my
BS. I have no new marketable skills. I have not used TAMU's career placement
resources because the service costs more than $40 per semester while the career
center at my undergrad school is free. I do not have any information about
prestige with employers.
