Part of what I understood before entering Cox, was that networking would an
integral part of my career going forward. Cox assists with that through the
mentoring program, BLC (see above), and various career management programs such
as mock interviews, resume critiques, alumni events etc. The students who
embrace these programs are the most successful as they understand that,
especially in this economy, jobs would not be handed out (as the were in the
1990s).
Campus recruiting is strong from a regional perspective. Some of the larger,
nation firms will conduct resume searches and individual interviews.
The school continually works with alumni in terms of keeping us active with the
school. This provides us with access to talent (current students) as well as a
sounding board with professors, the career placement office and other alumns.
