Admission & Application Survey |
| Full-time MBA Program |
SMU's Cox School is a top 40 school so admissions are somewhat
selective. Having said that, the admissions process went very smoothly
for me. My number one piece of advice is get a good GMAT score. I
applied with a 720 and was offered a scholarship before completing my
application (I had my score sent to SMU since I knew I would apply
there). I responded to that offer with my admission. The admissions
forms and paperwork are standard stuff. I had to write one short essay
and included my resume. The school looks for good work experience. I
applied in the first round in October and had a phone interview in
early December. I heard back within two weeks after that interview of
my acceptance and scholarship package. For me it went very smoothly and
quickly - the best admissions experience I had. If you make an effort
to get a good GMAT score, spiff up the resume, and turn in a good essay
you should be accepted and a scholarship is certainly possible.
