Admission & Application Survey |
| Part Time MBA Program |
First, this is the only all-women's business school in the country. So,
you obviously must be a woman to apply. The interview is very helpful
in terms of deciding why to go to Simmons over other schools. The staff
is very good at highlighting how the Simmons experience is different
than other part time evening MBA programs. They allowed me to
have "provisional acceptance" in order to start the program before my
GMATs were completed. Simmons looks for attributes other than simply
academics, and they work hard to make the program work for you. For the
most part, that's a good thing. On the other hand, that lends itself to
a very uneven student body (academically). If you have decent grades
from a mediocre school, you can probably get in-- if you have an
interview and can show how you are unique and will contribute to the
diversity of the student body. I had excellent grades from a top tier
undergraduate school-- so I wasn't worried about getting in. But,
because of my background, they allowed me the "provisional acceptance"
mentioned above. It allowed me to get going when I wanted to, rather
than having to wait an extra semester just for my GMATs to come in.
