I went for Finance and was always pleased with the status of the NYU program in
the investment/Wall Street community. At times, I felt the part-time program
status was held against me (versus those who went fulltime to Columbia),
nonetheless looking back I believe more of this perception was based on fictional
notions and not on anything of a factual nature. I had always been very
disappointed with the career and placement resources, finding graduation to be
more or less something where finding a terrific job was almost completely left to
the individual graduate. I never found the alumni network to be especially
helpful or willing to reach out and make a difference. However, in the past
year, a good deal of this insufficient area has been addressed. The school has
truly beefed up the aid to employment areas, with the main catalyst being the
prolonged bleak economic picture.
