Sloan has an urban campus located close to downtown Boston. On campus
housing is obtained through a lottery system. Due to the number of
people applying and the few spaces available, a large waiting list
exists. On campus housing accomodations are not the greatest, but
economically, cannot be beat. The alternative is off campus, but the
Boston housing market is much more expensive than I anticipated.
Boston/Cambridge, like most major cities, has crime issues and requires
common sense about safety issues, particularly at night.
The plus is that Boston is relatively compact for a large city so
everyone lives fairly close to each other. The T system makes it easy
to coordinate meeting with other people for team projects and social
events.
