Employment Prospects Survey
Full-time MBA program In a tight economy last year, both our Full time and Internship placements were placed in the top 2 among peer (top 10 schools) programs in the US. Aside from the traditional consulting and investemnt banking jobs (very few last year of the latter), there is a real spike in the number of Marketing/Product Management jobs in large companies and Start-ups. Several alumni such as John Reed (now head of NYSE), Carl Yankowski (former CEO of Palm), Carly Fiorina (CEO HP) and other advisors such as Michael Armstrong (former CEO of AT&T) have been strong presence on campus in the last two years in refining the Sloan brand aimed at being the place that develops "Principled, Innovating Business Leaders". Mckinsey especially *LOVES* Sloanies, and I recall two senior directors of the firm say at speeches that they never have to worry about Sloanies' intellectual rigor unlike the program across the river which tends to be "softer". The CDO does a really good job right from orientation till the time you leave! Finally since Sloan is a smaller school the chances of being in a leadership role for a club is significantly higher which makes it easier to differentiate yourselves in a tight economy.
