Social Life Survey |
| Full-time MBA Program |
Social life tends to be insular. Your friends are fellow MBAs. Often
enough, people find mates (or dates at least) in the program as well.
I count some of my dearest friends from those years, and am grateful to
have known them thanks to the program.
The school has a pub, and that is a hangout often enough. Friends will
do whatever suits them of course, likely off campus. There are sports
teams, publications, and interest groups. Most people have
involvements outside of class. In my own year, you saw anything from
satirical writers to ultimate frisbee to the London Marathon to an
investment club that kept score in mock portfolios. The rugby club is
the biggest sport and the fan favorite. LBS's rugby team is very good
and often wins MBA competitions on either side of the Atlantic. The
spring brings an "MBA Olymipiad" at ISA (near Paris) with the top
European programs. LBS shows in force, plays to win, and then parties
like champions, win or lose. It's the year's highlight.
