Admission & Application Survey |
| Executive MBA |
I went to an open house where I got to sit in on two classes. That was
great. I got to see first hand that the classes were not lectures but
discussions and real life examples. The atmosphere was very open,
engaging, and dynamic. This was not at all what I expected.
I made an appointment with the admissions officer and we discussed what
GMAT I would need and more about the school in general. With 15 years
work experience the GMAT was almost unnecessary. During the interview
learned everything I needed to know. It was very thorough. The most
important interview I had was the informal ones with the current
students. By design the school asks the current students to talk to the
prospects. They really put the program in perspective and were very
truthful. I got a true sense of the program from them; and as I had no
prior experience with graduate schools, that was priceless.
I will comment, however, that today Lake Forest seems to be placing less
emphasis on both the GMAT scores an on work experience. Though they're
still averaging 9-10 years, some of the new students I met (to me)
really didn't belong as they had 4-6 years of experience, but none in
management. To me, this program is not for them and I worry about
graduates from a hands on program like this one with little opportunity
to apply it.
