| International Executive Programme |
Lots of bars, restaurants, and social life in town. Since the program
runs 5 1/2 days a week, and there's eventually a lot of reading and
other work, you only get to appreciate 1.5 days off. In that time,
though, it's hard to get bored. A frequent trip was to Paris in SUnday
morning, to join in the mass rollerblade event - with about 5000 people
blading thorugh the streets of Paris and along the Seine. About a 45-
minute drive one-way. Charming little towns such as Barbizon are
steeped in history, and loaded with world-class restaurants and inns.
The Chateau Fontaionebleau is quite spectacular too - sort of a mini
version of the Versaille Palace. Sunny days in Fontainebleau are
terrific for strolling, shopping, or people-watching. And the French
are so beautiful to watch! On-campus bars are located in the main
building (Freddie's - named after the patron, Freddie Heineken), and in
the residence. On-campus dining is informal, delicious, and
inexpensive. And, of course, the number of new and interesting people
you're likely to meet - both in your class as well as in other
concurrent programs - is extremely enriching to the overall experience.
